The Princess Potty Party

Our Potty Princess!!

Well immediately after the Christmas Party, Dave and I swung into high gear preparing for the princess potty party we had for Celia today. She's been somewhat interested in pottying for quite some time now and when she expressed her desire earlier this week to show Mr. Matt Howell how she can TT in the potty we knew it was time.

So all princess paraphernalia purchased and packed and we were ready. Dave and Bennett left this morning before Celia woke. I crept into her room and announced "Celia, I saw a surprise for you downstairs and I wonder what it is?" She's big into presents, especially with Christmas and her birthday coming, and this quickly peaked her interest. We quickly changed and headed downstairs. Upon entering the bathroom she saw a package and opened it to find her very own potty doll in Big Girl Panties (henceforth known as BGPs). I asked her to name the doll and she chose South Carolina (a girl's gotta love her roots, right?).

Well after breakfast it was an all out potty fiesta with Celia, the teacher, instructing SC in the ways of pottying. We watched potty videos and played princess games. I had to help SC have accidents...saturating her BGPs with water and slipping tootsie rolls in there for Celia to find. Once a tootsie roll fell onto the floor and Celia really freaked out. We had to get toilet paper and remove the poo, but by lunchtime SC was potty trained! We had a potty party for her and Celia wanted to have one for herself "oneday".

After naptime it was Celia's turn to get BGPs and slip them on! She immediately said "Mommy I'm dry!" And we raced to the potty to practice. For the afternoon I was forcing the apple juice and she made it on the potty 4 times with just a couple of accidents in between but was quick to practice afterwards! Then that night Dave and Bennett came home with pizza and birthday cake and we had a potty party celebration for Celia! Our friends the Hunts, the Waters, and the Howells came to help celebrate! We're so proud of our big girl!
