Thanksgiving trip to Philadelphia

This Thanksgiving we spent time with Dave's family in Philadelphia- Here is a picture story of our time there....

Here the girls practice resting comfortably during short delay for our flight out-

right before takeoff the girls were all smiles...they did great on the plane coloring and watching Angelina Ballerina-

Our first full day in Philly we took a train into the city. Here is Mamu and the girls at the train station wating for our line into the city

on the train to go the Philadelphia Children's "please-touch" museum

it was a gross day but we did well-we were thankful to leave the 70s behind in Charlotte

in the museum the girls honed their farming techniques

Bennett loving the pig

Celia helped Mamu make and ice ginger cookies which were DELICIOUS!

One night our dear friends Dan, Sarah, andQuinn O'Neill stopped by so our kids could hang out. Then Mamu and Pops babysat so we could do dinner with Justin and Meg as well. It was so great to catch up with old friends-

Despite a ROUGH week with cat allergies Celia warmed up to the little rascals...here she is trying to get Cassidy to play with her

The Valley Green park was really close to the house so we went a few times. Aren't the leaves beautiful?

Aunt Jess and Uncle Zach arrived Wednesday sans luggage (they mailed it and it never showed up! HA!) so we went back to the park and had a party in the leaves

Uncle Zach covering Celia

Thanksgiving Day we went to a praise service at OPC and then came home to watch the parade, then Jess, Mamu, and the girls made pumpkin pies-

Before thanksgiving dinner we headed to Aunt Jean's house to visit and the girls loved her piano. I loved her yummy food...not to mention the dancing...video below, be sure to watch!

Dave, Pa, MomMom, Celia, Bennett, and Mary- so sweet to see Dave's grandparents-

and the table- the spread was amazing- both girls ate like champs! Notice the placemats that the girls made from some of the leaves at Valley Green park. Mamu is so crafty and has a laminating machine at home! Who knew?

And for the video, Here is it....this was maybe the most fun thing about Thanksgiving Day...
Aunt Jean is an aerobics instructor and she shared some of her moves with us. She rocks-
This is for you Aunt Jean.....

We've been tagged...

We were tagged by our friends the Dirks and so now you get to learn 8 fun facts about our family...

1-Every day we have at least 2 dance parties...normally they are after breakfast and dinner...Right now Bennett's favorite is a rap song titled "Breath in, Breath out" by LaCrae, and Currently Celia is all about "Matt Howell Music"

2-Mary perfers to fall asleep on the couch rather than in the bed...it happens every night at abou 9:30...In fact she is laying on the couch asleep right now.

3-Recently Celia's teacher told Mary...On a phone meeting...that Celia is advanced in her artistic abilities...Just tonight she drew a picture of me (dave) including a "tummy" arms and legs, that is the first time I have had more than a head.

4-Coffee..Mary has always loved it...I never drank it until I started seminary...When I started our friend Sammy Rhodes worked at Starbucks and hooked us up with a free pound of starbucks every other week...After they moved to Georgia we quickly found out we were hooked on the good stuff...for a while we went with the Harris Teeter brand, but now we go for the 2 pound bag of kirkland beans at Costco, they are roasted by Starbucks...2 pounds for 10 bucks and it tastes like Starbucks...Good deal!

5-Bennett loves animals, especially dogs...especially Mary's parent's dog Cooper...Cooper is so gentle she lets Bennett hug her all the time, for long periods of time...thus Bennett thinks she is supposed to hug every dog she meets...this is especially funny when we are walking around the apartment complex and someone lets Bennett "pet" the dog...but after a few seconds she simply stumbes towards the dog looking for the hug!

6-We are having another baby...Yep another girl...We think we have settled on a name...I better wait until mary wakes up to know if i can write it on the blog!

7-Mary and I love watching football, she is even interested enough to know how my fantasy teams are doing...What a wife!

8-Last spring after the Easter Service at church I was with Celia outside and I was talking to our Pastor Lindsey and his son Austin. Celia told Austin "you look nice." Austin told Celia "You look smokin' Hot!" ...Yeah Lindsey prodded him but it was still hilarious.

I hope you enjoyed reading these, I enjoyed writing them...We have a great family, they make me laugh alot...Praise God.

Just Being Girls...

Here are pics of what our girls look like most days.....not always bows and dresses...

After our glorious church directory pictures we had a quick bite to eat at Jack-in-the-Box, another funny story in and of itself, but while we were there the girls were given these little buckets and they have worn them as hats ever since....

ta-da!

Birthday pics

Bennett's birthday party this year was a cupcake decorating party- it was great fun. Here are some pictures from the day....

Halloween Night

We had lots of fun on Halloween but our costumes were a bit lacking I confess.....we were a bit disheveled but the girls didn't seem to mind....Celia was, in her words, "a princess with REAL makeup" and Bennett was a ballerina sans ballet slippers....Celia's were too big for her!

We partied with the Dirks at their place...here is Amelia Webber with our girls

and Lucy the ladybug

after the party we headed to the Williams' for some trick-or-treating. Here is Marion as Dorothy. Isn't she precious?

And Austin, the cowardly lion

Here is Lindsay walking the big kids up this path. This house was the creepiest to me....it was blasting loud scary music and Bennett kept saying "no, no" but then again she says that a lot, doesn't she?
