Kid Sister

Bennett is turning into a climber...unlimited possibilities with a little bit of help. Here she is owning Celia's kitchen. Watch out Paula Deen!

Mamu and Pops come to town

We had a great time with Mamu and Pops this past weekend. It had been since March since we had seen them and it was fun to show them how much the girls have changed and grown. Mamu gave me the day off on Monday so she could do some babysitting!!! Thanks Mamu!

Hysteria....

Today I realized Bennett had a little something in common with Def Leopard's drummer Rick Allen, She too can rock with just one arm working the drums. Do it Bennett!

Gypsy Rose

Yesterday afternoon Celia entered a new phase of life and began to dabble in the fine art of creative expression through fashion design. Clearly she demonstrates a knack for fashion sense and her first ensemble could be described as eclectic, blending together pieces from different themes but ties them all together very well. One critic commented that it harkens a little back to the blush and bashful wedding of '89....a slight reminder of looking a little bit like she'd been "hosed down with pepto-bismol"...I'm sure this is just a tease of what's to come!

Sisters

The other day I was cleaning out Bennett's dresser and getting out clothes that will take her into the spring of '07. Celia and Bennett were having so much fun playing in the mess around us as all of Celia's old clothes were ALL over Ben's floor. Celia wanted to play dress up so we put on hats! Just a glimpse at silly sister stuff.

panthers day '06

Football season is HERE! We are so excited! We moved to here with deep affection for the Eagles and have found room in our hearts for the panthers as well. We took Celia to the stadium and Dave was even able to go onto the field to attempt a touchdown pass through a hole about 20 yards out. It was so much fun even though it was SO hot!

This season we get to go to 3 games (thanks DSC) and also a preseason game next week. With all the NFL games and fantasy football in full swing its football fest in Kulp house.

A Trip to the Zoo

"want talk 'bout animals!"

That's been Celia's MO for quite some time now. She's been obsessed and thankfully Dave and I were able to take her to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia a couple of weeks ago. E and Hunt kept Bennett so it could be a Celia day. Dave took a Friday off of studying and we left at 7. Celia was so excited! It was hot as all get out but she did well, excluding one huge tumble over a stump which left her covered in black dirt head to toe. Other than that, it was an accident free day.

We started at the bears and moved on to the sea lions. She loved listening to the sea lions "talk" and tried to talk back often. She bought carrots to feed the giraffes but they weren't interested so she fed them to a goat instead. We watched a penguin feeding show and saw the beasts of the field, though honestly not that impressive. Both the lions and tigers were hot and sleeping. One favorite thing was watching the gorillas. She was a little nervous but clearly entertained.

Since the zoo trip, she continues to request animal conversations but now is much more capable at holding up her end of the conversation. Also her love/hate relationship with Chaka the gorilla has caused me a few trips to her room in the middle of the night due to a shadow on her wall that she swears is a gorilla. We're still working on that one!
