Clearly I've taken lots of time off from blogging. Its been freeing. I don't know about you but I often feel this pressure to show what we've been up to. It was enjoyable in the beginning but eventually was more of a chore.
After Aimee's death I don't feel like I've had that much to say. We've lived a sweet little family life and have had precious memories but I didn't feel like sharing them with the world. It was a good time of healing for our us. The Lord has been faithful.
But after a nice 6 month hiatus. I think I'm back..... but time will tell....
Since we've been away here are some highlights....
Celia started kindergarten at Lansdowne when homeschooling felt like it was too much in the wake of the depression following Aimee's death. She transitioned well and her favorite thing was riding the bus!
There was a great memorial concert for Aimee that Andrew Osenga gave. Allison Powell, sweet Aimee's sister and now a dear friend, came to stay with us as did 2 cousins, Logan and Natalie. For a an amazing surprise Leslie Powell (aimee's mom) flew in as well (thanks to great cousins!). It was a night of healing.
Our lifegroup, that used to be mostly single, has been bit by the lovebug. Andrea (and David), Lauren (and Brett), and Angela (and Tom) all got engaged! 2 weddings down so far and one to go. In honor of all the love we played the "almost newleywed game".
Camilla turned 2!
We celebrated Easter with Allison, her friend Fran and the Andrews family!
Dave and I had an amazing trip to NYC!
We went to the zoo with E, Aunt Wizzy and all the cousins.
Celia lost her first tooth! (now she's lost her second also!)
We had our first Derby Party.
There were 2 school musical performances to see.
I saw the Pioneer Woman in the flesh!
Celia, Bennett and DAVE! danced in their recital on stage at the Knight Theater.
Backyard Bible Club in our neighborhood.
Cheerleading camp at Covenant Day School.
3 very fun weddings.
A beach trip to Charleston.
Allison lived with us for the summer which meant lots of chinese food!
lots of time at Mountainbrook pool
Camilla mastered the high dive!!
New guitar for Mary.
New game for Dave.
lots of friends birthing babies.
Books.
Family Movie Nights.
Now Summer is ending and we are heading back to homeschooling.
The littles start preschool after labor day.
We're starting a new lifegroup with Brett and Lauren Bonnema.
Aimee's brother Daniel is moving in mid-September.
We see God's grace in our lives and we're thankful for his sustaining grace. so blessed to be a part of this community.
