I don't know how much y'all know about the way I spend gift money (you know Christmas and Birthday and the such). But i like ot make it last, spending a little here and a little there. My birthday was in April and recently I was reflecting about how I would like to try to make Sushi sometime, then I realized I had a little bithday money left so I spent a whopping 10 Bucks on a Sushi Starter set at walmart.com, which included a "how to make sushi" book, and 2 sushi bamboo rolling boards.
It arrived last week and on Saturday Marybeth was out for the afternoon so i gave it a try. It was mainly a test to see how the rice worked so i kept it simple...Just tuna and rice rolls dipped in Soy sauce and wasabi. It turned out great, and it made so much I was able to share with some other sushi lovin friends (Ted and the Howells)!
Tuna is by far my favorite but next time i will get a little more intricate, maybe some alvacado? cucumber? sesame seeds? seaweed? who knows!
