"Christ the Lord is RISEN! He is risen indeed! Can Celia say that?"
Those are the words that greeted me after I answered a phone call from what I thought was my parents. Instead, it was my precious nephew and godson Samuel Jackson, joyously proclaiming the reason we celebrate. To answer Samuel's question, no, celia couldn't say that all together at one time I don't think, but something to strive for and such a great example. Way to go Samuel!
We had a great Easter! This year we helped Celia prepare for Resurrection Sunday by doing Resurrection Eggs with her (thanks mom for getting them for us!). Each night during family devotions Dave would have Celia open an egg and talk about the item that was found inside...the first night it was a donkey. Now of course she was all over that (by the way, "nonkney" is now just "donkey" in celia-speak). It took her through Judas' betrayal of Jesus for money all the way to the crucifixion and ended with an empty egg to symbolize His resurrection. This year we also started a new tradition of making Resurrection Story Cookies (pecan meringues). They were good to eat and eventually Celia will be able to further grasp the concept but for now she enjoyed crushing pecans and using her finger as a lick-a-stick in the sugar....
Here are a couple of pictures of the girls...pictures of Bennett now are starting to capture her fun little personality that's starting to shine through!
